on august 10th this year i am getting myself a mrs teshno. as such, i’m going to amsterdam on my stag do this weekend and plan to hit the planet delsin party at trouw where claro intelecto and delta funktionen are set to play, so i thought i’d preview the event.
trouw (meaning ‘faithful’ after the name of a newspaper which was produced there for almost 20 years) is one of the picturesque city’s newest and coolest clubs. located in a low-key neighbourhood just to the east of the city centre, the large space is characterised by disused machinery, concrete walls and industrial lighting… it’s a raw rave heaven, basically, and is the perfect setting for what will go down on friday night.
first up, and fresh off the back of his debut delsin full length (read an in depth feature about it here) is claro doing an all-new live show. using various bits of hardware he’ll recreate the sort of deep, immersive house and techno with which he has made his name. i’m expecting plenty of lush melodies, evolving synthscpaes and the most infectious grooves imaginable.
as well as the manchester man, holland’s own techno titan delta funktionen will be playing, and he too has his debut delsin album, traces, due out soon. it covers lots of ground, with not all of it completely focussed on the dancefloor. made using a mixture of drum machines, fm and digital synthesizers, various bits of hardware and digital fx units, the whole thing was sequenced in ableton with plenty of sample use to finish it off.
says neils… “i’ll be showcasing a lot of different music, and i will of course play lots of tracks of the album. and i’m happy that the album release party is at the amsterdam homebase (trouw) for the planet delsin nights.”
